Vessel of Life

Set in the year 2523, the world has experienced a significant decline and degradation due to environmental issues. After spending many years in a bunker, the founder and their disciples finally emerge and make a remarkable discovery
—The Vessel of Life.

This artefact contains preserved parts of nature, carefully protected by plastic, preventing contamination. Through the act of planting the contents of the Vessel, the founder and disciples are able to restore and save the world.
The core concept of the project revolves around the idea of living off the land and the deep connection between humanity and nature. The land itself is divided into different areas, including a worship space and spaces dedicated to creating clay vessels and cultivating the contents that will eventually be placed inside these vessels. The worship space serves as a testament to the moment the first Vessel of Life was found, symbolizing the pivotal role it played in the world's salvation.

BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design

Interior Architecture and Design at NTU has an incredibly long and rich history; with Interior Decoration taught at the first ever UK Art school, in the Waverley building during the 1950s.

Over the last 70 years, our programme has grown and adapted to meet the requirements of industry and social change, respond to trends, and deliver a degree which encourages students to look, think, critically appraise, and understand local and world issues amongst the principles of design.

We are a validated degree programme in which our students can join the Chartered Society of Designers, and we are members of the Interior Educators network. Our dedicated design studio in the Grade II* listed Arkwright building enables a studio culture which reflects professional practice, in a dynamic environment that challenges everyone to work collaboratively, share experiences and experiment with ideas.
