The Leen Gate Cancer Research Centre sits within the heart of Old Lenton in Nottingham, alongside QMC, providing modern laboratory spaces to senior researchers in the city. The key client is the University of Nottingham and would be an addition to the existing immunology and epidemiology departments. The centre employs many techniques to achieve its BREEAM Excellent rating, powering the building with a combination of Rheinzink solar PVs and ground source heat pumps. The landscaping provides a key feature to the building, allowing for large green spaces and maximising natural lighting within the building's key occupancy areas. The facade is made up of a combination of bronze Proteus SR aluminium panels and white ceramic-glazed brickwork.
