Vertical Village

Only two factors account for a sizable percentage of human experience: our need for refuge and our need for food. Therefore, a fundamental principle throughout this site is preserving a cradle to grave process for all produce grown. To ensure a sustainable design approach, processes such as hydropower, rainwater harvesting, and passive solar gain will be implemented. The aim is to build experiences through cooking a creative pursuit, which is also a community-based activity that will teach locals’ key skills. The main exhibit of this will be using vertical farming on-site. The crop grown using this modern agricultural process will then be utilised in the cooking school, restaurant, and supermarket. Cutting the food chain by putting purchasers in touch with nearby farmers and merchants directly could re-establish a connection between people and the existing environment. Maximising space for public interaction, fundamental needs, a sense of ownership and responsibility can be resorted in the community.
