Since 2012, Meadow Lane has been home to the Nottingham based business, 200 Degrees Coffee. To assist their rapidly expanding enterprise, the company has commissioned for the design of a new and improved roastery that will increase production and act as a new visitor centre.

This project aims to create two separate promenades that blend education with the visitor's appreciation for coffee. The first is a new visiting experience that will allow the visitor to go on a journey around the world to discover new styles of coffee and learn about the different coffee making processes from different cultures. The second is a library and debating space that was inspired by the influence of 17th century European coffeehouses on the Enlightenment movement. This section of the roastery, therefore, contains books on history, politics and philosophy so one may follow in the freethinkers’ footsteps and attain new knowledge and question its validity with other members of the community
