VIRIDIS ACADEMY

The Viridis Academy proposes a project-led design school that blends indoor-outdoor learning with a large focus on sustainability and wellbeing. The campus is designed around providing green space and access to education for the Meadows section of Nottingham. The Meadows is a deprived area which means the population is less likely to pursue their education. This is where the academy fits as it will provide green space and improve the area’s access to higher education. With a project-led approach industry professionals are involved throughout. This improves the student’s network and will lead to greater opportunities post-graduation. A large part of the academy is increasing students’ connections with each other and the environment to improve well-being. By giving the student more outdoor exposure and a less intense curriculum structure the experience will be the best in the industry.
